SUSHI BITES AND CUCUMBER ROLLS

Sushi Bites and Cucumber Rolls.



Ingredients 

Sushi rice 

1 cup of rice ( round rice) 
2 cups of water 
Salt to taste 
Rice vinger 1/4 cup 
Sugar 1/2 tsp 

Topping 
Smoked salmon 
1 medium avocado 

Cucumber roll 

Cucumber 1 medium size 
Tuna 120g 
Cream cheese 1 1/2 tbsp 
Spicy mayo ( optional) 
Salt to taste
Garlic powder 1/2 tsp 


Instructions 

Rice 

  • Wash the rice with water four times or until the water comes clear. 
  • In a saucepan, heat the 2 cups of water. When the water starts to boil, add salt and mix well.
  •  When the salt has dissolved, add the rice and let it cook on medium heat until there is no water. 
  • Once most of the water evaporates, lower the heat and let it steam for 15-20 minutes. After the time has passed, fluff the rice with a fork and set it aside. 
  • Combine the rice vinegar and the sugar and add it to the cold rice. Mix well and place the rice in a square container. Place the rice in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes. 
  • Cut the rice into squares and fry them in a hot pan. Make sure the pan is hot before frying the rice squares. 
  • Top the rice squares with avocado and smoked salmon. 

Cucumber rolls 

  • With a potato peeler, shave the cucumber to get thin slices. 
  • Before adding the tuna, ensure that there are enough layers as shown in the picture on the right.
  • Combine tuna, cream cheese, and a little spicy mayo (optional) in a bowl.
  • Spread the tuna mixture on the cucumber slices and add the avocado. 
  • Roll the cucumber from right to left and slice it as shown in the picture below.
